Human chains demand the extermination of barren dogs

Residents of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have organized a human chain demanding the extermination of stray dogs in Dhaka city. The demand was made at a human chain held in front of Nagar Bhaban on Wednesday (September 2).

Speakers at Manbandhan said, "We have been compelled to hold a human chain demanding the extermination or relocation of stray dogs in Dhaka South City. As well as meeting to deliver a memorandum to the mayor.

They also said that the number of stray dogs has increased in Dhaka city at present. There are 20-30 dogs in different alleys, which is a very scary thing. These dogs attack when they see a pedestrian. Many were bitten and injured. Dog attacks on worshipers, especially at night or during morning prayers, have become a daily occurrence.

The speakers said that in urban areas, as many animals are needed for human welfare. But all the animals that would hinder or terrorize the safe living of people in urban areas must be exterminated or relocated. Considering the plight of the city dwellers who are restless due to the pain of dogs, the Dhaka South City Corporation authorities will implement their decision on stray dogs quickly and provide safe Dhaka to the city dwellers, this is our demand.
