Sheikh Mujibur Rahman - Father of Bengalis
Nickname is "Khoka". As a teenager, he led a party to demand reforms in the roofs of their schools and took them to the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque.  Starting from that.  Growing up in the mud of Tungipara, he became a symbol of the unwavering love and political wisdom of the people of Bengal and the hope and aspiration of the people of Bengal.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on 17th March 1920 in the village of Tungipara in the Gopalganj subdivision of Faridpur district in the house of Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and Sayera Khatun.

Khoka from Tungipara once became the great hero of seven and a half crore Bengalis.  Liberating the Bengali nation from the shackles of subjugation became the direction of liberation. He is Bangabandhu, the father of Bengali Bengalis.

Father of the nation spent his childhood in Tungipara village. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman first started his education in 1939 at Gimadanga Tungipara Primary School built by Bangabandhu's ancestors. The father of the nation spent his childhood in Tungipara village.  Sheikh Mujibur Rahman first started his education in 1939 at Gimadanga Tungipara Primary School built by Bangabandhu's ancestors.

After that he went to missionary school in Gopalganj.  Bangabandhu's father's workplace was there.  The Chief Minister Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque and Hossain Shahid Suhrawardy visited their school.  Sheikh Mujib urged the two of them to develop the school.

Sheikh Mujib's leadership qualities began to manifest in school life.  That leadership is further enriched in college life.  He got close to the senior leaders of that time.  The senior leaders of that time could have guessed that Sheikh Mujib was a different person.  He is no longer like ten.

He will spread the light.  This was believed by Maulana Bhasani, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque, Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy.  They also loved Sheikh Mujib.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the focal point of most of the meaningful movements. This undisputed leader of the Bengali nation was imprisoned for the first time for joining the anti-British movement at that time.  From then on, the journey of his life-long struggling life began.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became the undisputed leader of the Bengali nation through the six-point movement of 1966, the mass uprising of 1969 and the achievement of independent Bangladesh through the historic elections of 1970 and the war of liberation.

Bangabandhu's name has been immortalized in every chapter of the liberation struggle of Bangladesh.  His historic speech on March 7, 1971 at the then Racecourse Grounds was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

He officially declared the independence of Bangladesh in the early hours of March 26, 1971 before being arrested by the Pakistani aggressors.  That same night, the Pakistani invaders arrested Bangabandhu and took him to West Pakistan.

Bangabandhu was imprisoned throughout the war of liberation.  At that time, the Pakistani rulers also tried to assassinate Bangabandhu by judging a farce.  Although later it was not possible due to international pressure.

After the independence of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu returned to the country on 10 January 1972.  Then he concentrated on building a war-torn country.

He was killed along with his family on 15 August 1975 when a group of misguided army officers were leading the newly independent Bangladesh towards economic liberation.   On that day Bangabandhu's two daughters survived as they were living abroad.

Bangabandhu's eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina is currently the Prime Minister of the country.

Bangabandhu does not belong to any party, he belongs to all, crores of people.  He has been repeatedly soaked in the love of our people.  Because Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib has given place to people above everything.  He has repeatedly said, first I am a human being, then a Bengali, then a Muslim. That's why he is the best man!  The best Bengali!  The best politician, the best leader.

The best in human qualities, the best in political wisdom.  Best as a country builder.  There are many great scholars who have advanced civilization with their erudition.  But there are few people in the world who have sacrificed themselves like Bangabandhu to liberate people.   That is why Cuban Fidel Castro looked at Bangabandhu and said, 'I have not seen the Himalayas, I have seen Sheikh Mujib'.  That is why Bangabandhu is the best of all.
