Pharmacists and Medical degrees were introduced by Muslims

 

Former Arabian physicians were philosophers and sages at the same time. Since the 600's, the Arabians have had remarkable success in their research on medicine. The Arabians were the first to set up pharmacists' shops or pharmacies, and to establish schools for the combination of drugs, now called pharmacist degrees. In the light of history, we see that during the reign of Caliph al-Mamun, the owners of pharmacies (drug mixers) had to pass an examination. Physicians, like pharmacists, had to pass tests. In 931 after an accident, Caliph al-Mamun ordered a well-known physician to examine the rest of the physicians and certify the appropriate ones.  With that certificate they will be able to treat ordinary people.  If anyone else gives treatment, he will be punished. At the time, more than 860 doctors in Baghdad passed the test.  As a result, the people of the Baghdad, have been saved them by the mistreatment of fake doctors. 

At present, doctors in different countries of the world are taken certificates of MBBS, FCPS, MD, all these degrees are basically the modern form of the medical certificate of Caliph Al Mamun. In addition, to open a pharmacy now, everyone has to take a 4-year diploma degree as a qualification and the degree that pharmacists have to take to discover various medicines is also a modern form of the certificate issued during the time of Caliph Al Mamun.

So Muslims think that they have no any contribution in modern science. THERE is nothing to suffer from inferiority complex.  The modern world is made by the Muslims and the progress of the next world will be in the hands of the Muslims.  Muslims should devote themselves to the practice of knowledge without wasting time unnecessarily.
