Professor Mong Zani
Professor Maung Zani the Wisconsin genocide researcher and human rights activist in the United States. On 9 September at the Downing Street, he gave this interview during a protest. A brief translation of that interview was presented here on the Rohingya situation-

Interviewer: What is the current situation of Rakhine State of Myanmar? How is the situation reflected in the main stream media?

Professor Mong: Now what is happening in the Rakhine State is a complete massacre, full mass genocide. It's not just 'racism'. People are not just being evicted from there, genocide is also going on. Many people are going to flee to Bangladesh. This is a historic event.

I'm from Burma. I am the intellectual, I am the Burmese, from the joint family. My Great Uncle, who died last year, was a military-commander-in-charge of several areas, including the Rohingya District. Rohingya our own population They are known there as peaceful. Like communists and other minor populations of Burma, they are also rebels. They are fighting against Burma Center states. After the surrender, they agreed on peace negotiations.

Interviewer: Give us the idea of division here ...

Professor Mong: We have a few communities in West Burma claiming their country's independence. They have different history from Central Burma. There are language differences. Burma is a bit like Britain, where different states have different history-culture and linguistic diversity.

In the case of Rohingya in West Burma, you will see trinity politics. The Rohingya population is one third of the population, compared to the Buddhist Rakhine population in that region. The Rohingya population is small in number. In other words, the Rohingya population is not a threat to local or national intellectuals. So we are the intellectuals, an influential part of Burma, who built their western colonies in Burma in 1785. As a result, people of Buddhist Rakhine, Rohingya Muslims, other Muslims, and Christian communities came under the same state. Many Muslims fled to Bangladesh and then to East Bengal. After 20 years the British joined this new colony. In 1940, Burma restored independence to the British. Then the Buddhist majority Burmese started behaving like British. The thing is that they are new British. We saw that the majority of army-controlled Burmese followed the principle of 'Share and govern'.

Interviewer: Then there are three groups. Affected Rohingya, Buddhist ...

Professor Mong: Rakhine intellectuals are also victims of this colonization. The majority of army-controlled Burmese intellectuals created divisions between the Rakhine Buddhists and the Rohingya Muslims and put them against each other.

Interviewer: Friendship between Rakhine Buddhist and army-controlled majority Burmese intellectuals ...

Professor Mong: I know exactly. After independence from British and before this alliance, Rakhines demanded their independence from Burma. And a small group of Rohingya Muslims also claimed freedom. But Mujahideen's little Rohingya group surrenders and the Burmese military makes an agreement with the Rohingyas so that they do not have to fight two-way against Rakhine and Rohingya.

Burmese military took anti-radical turn from the sixties. This radical turn has turned the Rohingya massacre centrally on. Military decided that Rohingyas are the main threat to Burma's national security. The only reason, they are Muslim.

Interviewer: So plan to evict all others ...

Professor Mong: I know exactly. In the past 39 years, more than one million Rohingyas have been forced to flee. 'Ethnic cleansing' is to eradicate people from a particular place. But it's worse than the other - Sisterster and Evil. Because there is a policy that an environment for the Rohingya people will be created so that they become physically weak and evacuated in the community. Their external movement is narrowed and banned so that they can not get nutrients, cultivation and fishing are prohibited.

Under the Arakan circumstances, you will see that there is a knot in Gaza (Palestine) and the concentration camp (second world war). If you do not see in your own eyes, you will never realize that the Rohingya people are captured in a huge prison. Look at the Rohingya youth - they have no future, there is no place to go, so they are forced to withdraw their arms.

It's a lot like Auschwitz (Poland). In October 1944, with the support of Polish social worker, a group of four or five youths stormed the Constantination camp in Hitler's Tibetan Caravan and blew up four members of the SS force. In response, Hitler's forces brutally killed 500 armed men. The Rohingya situation is even more ruthless than Hitler's special horrors.

Rohingya rebels killed 12 policemen. And we drove 3 million people out. I've destroyed everything by fire. We destroyed a hundred kilometer of burnt land. Children and old people who are unable to walk are being burned, the military is still shooting while the people are fleeing. From the back, from the speedboat, from the helicopter. And landlines have been kept in the woods where the Rohingyas are fleeing in length. It is the Burmese military who is forced to flee the Rohingya and at the same time wants to kill as many as possible.

So it is at the same time genocide and ethnic cleansing. But dangerously it is a massacred massacre.

Interviewer: There was a ban on voting rights of Rohingya people during the election of Sochi. But all Western media has missed the issue ...

Professor Mong: They go with Sochi. Two years ago when Souci was asked about Rohingya, she said this is not our priority, because there are many big issues in Burma. And the Western media is still laughing with Souci.

Interviewer: Is everyone's attention to economic interest?

Professor Mong: No, no. Not like that. But what if the Muslims were killed? Do you think that if the Catholics in Italy were killed in the same way, Western media did not cover it? Of course Western Media Anti-Muslim-Racist For this reason, you will see that Paris Barcelona's events are so prominent, but their tone is not available in bombings in Syria or Damascus.
