Jews, Muslims, and Christians Holy Jerusalem

At that time the relations between the Muslims and the Jews were fairly friendly.

But in the 1930s the Palestinians realized that they were losing land slowly. The Jews came in groups and kept purchasing the land.

During the establishment of the state of Israel, there were about seven million Palestinian people-displaced. They thought they would be able to return home if they solve the problem quickly.

But Israel never let them return home.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres said in an interview with the BBC ten years ago that they should ask themselves why the Palestine is such in this situation.

Mr Perez said, "Most of the land was in the hands of the Palestinians, they had a separate state, but they rejected it, they made mistakes in 1947. We did not make any mistakes, why should we apologize for their mistakes?"

Since 1897 the Jews wanted to build a separate state for themselves.

From 1917 to 1948, the land of Palestine was under British control.

In November 1917, Britain occupied Jerusalem from the hands of Turkish soldiers.

The British government then decided that it would help in forming a separate state for the Jews on Palestine ground.

The British Foreign Minister Lord Arthur James Balfour wrote a letter telling the matter to Baron Rotschild, leader of the Jewish movement.

The British Foreign Minister's letter was known as 'Belfora's Declaration'.

To the Jews, Britain promised that they would have the opportunity to form a state for them in the Palestinian land.

Although there was a small religious group of Jews living in that place from Roman times.

The negative attitude toward the Jews in Europe has made them think of forming a state of their own.

Since the year 1933 the German government Hitler began to be harsh on the Jews.

Meanwhile, thousands of Jewish immigrants came to the Palestinian territories by ship.

Then the Palestinian Arabs realize that their existence is threatening.

Palestinian Arabs revolt against their own survival. Their attacks were targeted by British soldiers and Jewish citizens.

But the Arab army's rebellion was suppressed by the British soldiers.

The British soldiers on the Palestinians had done so strict repression that erosion in the Arab society was created.

The Jews were determined to form a separate state for them. With the help of Britain, they were proceeding accordingly.

In the late 1930s, Britain wanted Hitler's Nazi forces to strengthen their position in the Middle East.

That is why Britain wants to keep both Arab and Jewish sides

In the middle of 1939, the British government published a white paper that says that for the next five years, seventy five thousand Jewish immigrants will come to the Palestinian territories. That is, the numbers were reduced.

The Jews did not take such a plan well in Britain.

Together they plan to fight against Britain and Hitler.

Then 32 thousand Jews joined the British army.

From there, the Jewish soldiers started fighting against Britain and the Arabs with military training.

After World War II, a new reality was created after hundreds of thousands of Jewish killings by Hitler's forces.

After the end of World War II in 1945, discussions about what can be done for the survivors of the Jews.

Then the idea of building a separate state for the Jews in the Palestinian territories is stronger.

Harry Truman, the then US president, highlighted the position of the state of Israel.

Mr. Truman wanted to have a hundred thousand survivors from Hitler to be given a place in the Palestinian territories quickly.

But Britain realized that if a large number of Jews were taken to the Palestinian territories, there would be a civil war.

Conflicts with the Palestinians are still going on since the establishment of the State of Israel
At this time the armed groups of Jews started attacking British troops on various places in Palestine.

British forces barricaded thousands of Jews who were loaded with ships from Europe to Palestine. But it did not get much profit.

Jewish armed groups increased their attack on the British army.

Their aim was to create a situation that Britain and the international community quickly decided to form a Jewish state. The pressure on the UK has been increasing for the solution.

Then forced Britain to take it to the United Nations
.
In November 1947, the United Nations decided to form two states in the Palestinian territories. For a Jew and the other for the Arabs.

Although the Jews own 10 percent of the total land area, they are given half of the land. But Arabia's population and land ownership was twice the number of Arabs.

Naturally the Arabs did not accept this decision. They dismissed the decision of the United Nations.

But in the Palestinian territories, Jews began to rejoice in victory. Finally the Jews got an independent land. But Arabs realized that the problem would not be solved by diplomacy.

After this decision of the United Nations, rioting started between Arabs and Jews. British soldiers were counting the day to leave the Palestinian territories.

Then the armed groups of Jews started to come openly. They also had secret weapons factories.

But the greatest benefit of the Jews was their wise leadership.

In contrast, the Arabs had no leadership. The Jews understood that after the formation of a new state, the Arabs would not leave them. The Jews were already made for possible war.

Everyone's eyes were on the city of Jerusalem. This place is sacred for Muslims, Jews and Christians.

Jerusalem was supposed to be under international control in the decision that the United Nations made.

But Arab or Jewish - no party accepted it. As a result, the battle between the two sides for the control of the city of Jerusalem was inevitable.

The Arabs kept the Jews living in Jerusalem confined. Jerusalem's connection with other places is lost.

In March 1948 the Jews started counter-attacks on the Arabs.

Many analysts said that the Jews planned to eradicate the Arabs.

As the Arabs did not have any coordination, the Jews occupied one strategic position after one another.

Then a Palestinian leader Al-Husseini went to Syria for arms assistance.

But the Syrian government refused to support the Palestinians. Al Hussaini came back to the war again. He was killed a few days later.

When the Jews increased their attack, many Palestinian Arabs fled their homes in December 1947.

The atrocities of Jewish armed groups give fear to the Arabs. On the other hand, the Palestinian Armed Forces launched a series of attacks on the Jews.

But the Palestinians started breaking down in the face of persistent and strong attacks of the Jews. They fled the house and fled.

On the other hand, King Abdullah of Jordan and the governments of other Arab countries were under pressure in their own countries.

After the establishment of the state of Israel, there was twice war with the Arabs.
The people of those countries wanted to move forward with the help of the Palestinians.

Britain left Palestine on May 14, 1948. The same day the Jewish leaders announced that the Jewish state would be born that night.

Within an hour of the birth of the Israeli state, Arabs started attacking. Together, five Arab countries attack Israel.

The countries which attacked Israel at one time are - Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Their number was about thirty thousand in number.

On the other hand, there were about 35 thousand soldiers in Israel.
But there was no coordination between Arab countries. Moreover, the Arab leadership did not believe in each other.

Intense fighting between Arabs and Israel for the capture of Jerusalem

The Jews thought that the Jewish state had no meaning except Jerusalem. On the other hand, Jerusalem is also a holy place for Muslims.

At one point of time, the Israeli army retreated. The stock of their arms is over.

Having realized the potential defeat, the Jews take time to conserve themselves.

The Egyptian army could move towards Tel Aviv only if it advanced a bit. The ceasefire came into effect through the United Nations.

During the ceasefire, the two sides save energy. But Israel got more benefits. The modern arms ship from Czechoslovakia came in Israel's hand.

After the war broke out, the Israeli army jumped on the Arabs again. Jews occupy an important place after Acre.

Yasir Arafat, the late leader of Palestine Liberation Movement, and his wife Suha
Their complete control over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem was established.

Through another war break through the UN, he stopped the conflict. After understanding Israeli forces they are getting freedom, but the fight has not stopped yet.

From November 1947 to January 1949, six thousand Jews were killed.

The Jews think that if they were defeated in the war then Arabs would have wiped them out.

Israelis believe that in 1947 the United Nations recognized two countries in the same way, if the Palestinians accepted it, then both the Palestinians and the Israelis would now have a peaceful side.

Because of their lack of confidence in the Arab countries, they were defeated in the war of 1948 and they were able to become permanent by the birth of Israel. This is how many historians see this way.

Since 1948, Israel has developed rapidly in military, political and economic terms. They appear as super power.
