On 7th March 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic speech, 'This time's struggle is our freedom's struggle, this time's struggle is freedom's struggle,' the liberation-conscious class got an indication of what to do next. After that, Bangabandhu's long talks with General Yahya Khan from March 16 to March 24 to solve the problem turned to failure and many people started preparing for war. In those stormy days of March, the battlefield thus prepared.

Mr. Yahya Khan left Dhaka for Karachi in a special plane of Pakistan Air Force on the night of 25th March. The massacre began after the news of his arrival in Karachi was sent to Dhaka at 11 pm. Tanks and armed soldiers came down the streets. History's brutal killings began to stall the movement for the rightful demands of East Pakistan forever. During the execution of the massacre on March 25, the police, the then EPR and Bengali soldiers and officers in various cantonments tried to put up resistance. The war for freedom started from the next day. Each jumps into the ultimate battle for freedom. A great victory was achieved on December 16, 1971 after 9 months of bloody struggle and sacrifice.
